Book cover illustration of a woman,

Anathema has spent nearly twenty-two years secluded in her attic, longing to glimpse what lies beyond the Snow Forest, a place with magical beings known as the Star-Fallen, just outside her frosted window.

Raised to be obedient and silent, she’s learned never to even think of defying her mother’s commands to stay away, no matter how deceptively enchanting the forest may appear from afar. And no matter how much it calls to her.

However, after a scroll with her name written in disappearing ink shows up on her windowsill, carried in by one of the crows she’s secretly fed over the years, her life begins to take its first leap into the unraveling of all she thought she knew.

The frightening truth of a life built on lies reveals itself in the midst of the night after she wakes mid-sleep, having wandered into that very Snow Forest, where the mysterious sender of her vanishing message awaits, ready to whisk her away into a world of whimsically dark wonders, all wrapped in secrets, curses, and her magical starlit tears.

A reimagined telling of Anathema’s Curse
